The Guil-Rand Fire Department Fire Marshal's Office is tasked with fire inspections within the city limits of Archdale and Trinity.

North Carolina General Statutes mandate inspections in all commercial occupancies. The North Carolina State Building and Fire Codes are periodically updated and adopted by local ordinance and are enforceable by state law. The provisions of the code shall apply to the construction, alteration, movement, enlargement, replacement, repair, equipment, use and occupancy, location, maintenance, removal and demolition of every building or structure or any appurtenances connected or attached to such buildings or structures. The purpose of these inspections is to maintain a level of safety for both occupants and structures. 

Our office is also tasked with plan reviews and construction inspections for new commercial structures inside the cities of Archdale and Trinity. We also issue construction permits for several types of systems. 

The Fire Marshal's Office also performs investigations of all fires within the Guil-Rand Fire Department district.  Investigators work closely with local, state, and federal agencies to determine both the origin and cause of fires occurring in the district. 

Additionally, the Fire Marshal's Office oversees community risk reduction and fire prevention for the communities we serve.
